although 和 despite 怎么用？让步结构解析与练习

入门时先掌握 although + 主语与谓语，以及 despite + 名词或动名词。despite 后不加 of；in spite of 才包含 of。although 也有省略结构，所以不能把入门口诀当作没有例外的完整语法。

although 表示承认一种情况，但后面的主张或结果依然成立。常见写法是 Although the task was difficult, we finished it. 让步从句放句首时，用逗号和主句分开。

despite 是介词，常接名词或动名词形式。despite the difficulty 与 despite facing difficulties 都可以；不要写 despite of。

普通让步复合句中，Although the task was difficult, we finished it. 已经表达了两部分的关系，不需要再在主句前加 but。也可以另写 The task was difficult, but we finished it.。

比较两种完整写法，比背诵一个脱离句子的连接词列表更有用。用 although 并不天然比用 but 更高级，选择应取决于句子的组织方式。

despite the fact that 后可以接从句，因为中间有 the fact。与此同时，正式英语中也存在 although tired、although working hard 等省略或非限定结构，不能一概判错。
